About PFLAG of Norman
PFLAG Norman is a local chapter of the national organization PFLAG, . Our mission is to promote the health and well-being of LGBTQ+ persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights.
Founded in 1972 with the simple act of a mother publicly supporting her gay son, PFLAG is the original ally orgnaization. FLAG is the extended family of the LGBTQ community. We’re made up of LGBTQ individuals, family members, and allies. Because together, we are stronger.
PFLAG Norman first met in 1995 and has been a safe harbor ever since for families, allies, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people. We work to embrace diversity and advance equalit through the PFLAG mission.
PFLAG Norman Chapter meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The meetings are a space to share ideas and openly discuss LBGTQ issues and provide support for family, friends, and allies in a non-threatening environment.
