Statement on Norman Teacher

PFLAG Norman was made aware of the Norman middle school teacher that allegedly told students that they must choose between being a Christian and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Our board reached out to Norman Public Schools who advised us that this was taken out of context. While this is still a concerning statement, the personnel matter is being handled internally by the school board and according to policy. Our chapter has also offered assistance on the issue and will continue to work with the district.
